In 2012 Cape Town's iconic Table Mountain was inaugurated as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Alex, an intern from Ireland, accompanied me as we scaled the mountain on his final day of working for us. Having being stuck in the office all week, we decided to show him around Cape Town, and what better way to do this than with a birds-eye view.
A huge attraction for tourists, locals rarely seem to go up and admire the view. After all these years I'm pleased to say the views still take my breath away.
I've heard many people complain about the price of going up, however, I found the R205 return fee to be quite reasonable, especially when considering how much it would cost in terms of time to climb the mountain.
I highly recommend a ride on the cable cars. The restaurant up top has a lovely selection of goods to feast on and if you're ever caught in a sudden downpour (as we were) their coffee is delicious.
